This explains what TaxDecoded ("we", "us") collects when you use the quiz, buy a report, or order a form, and what we do with it. We've kept it in plain English on purpose — the whole point of this business is not hiding things in small print.
| When | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Using the free quiz | Your answers (employment type, occupation, rough income band, vehicle use, marital status, etc.) | To calculate your results — kept only in your browser unless you continue below |
| Requesting your result / report | Your email address, and the quiz answers above | To generate and send your report, and to contact you about it |
| Buying a report or form | Payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details | To process payment |
| Ordering a printed form | Your name and postal address | To print and post the form to you |
Scotland and Wales set some of their own income tax rates. We ask so we can use the correct rules for your figures — not for any other purpose.
Your email stays on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it — see below. Quiz answers tied to a purchase are kept as part of your order record. Payment card data is never stored by us at all; Stripe retains it under their own policy.
Under UK GDPR you can ask us at any time to:
Email hello@taxdecoded.co.uk for any of the above. We aim to respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Your quiz progress is held in your browser's memory for the session only.
TaxDecoded provides guidance based on current HMRC published rates. We are not a regulated financial adviser or a tax agent. Nothing here is personal financial advice — for complex affairs, speak to a qualified accountant.
If this changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
